(BPRW) Jessie Trice Community Health System Recognizes Men’s Health Month

(Black PR Wire) Did you know that June is recognized as Men’s Health Month? The Jessie Trice Community Health System encourages men, leading up to Father’s Day and beyond, to take care of themselves and to make their health a priority.

“Educating the public about the importance of a healthy lifestyle and early detection of male health problems can result in reducing rates of mortality from disease,” said Annie Neasman, CEO of JTCHS.  “Men who are educated about the value that preventive health can play in extending their lifespan are more likely to participate in health screenings. Encourage the men in your lives to have a positive health outlook and to be health aware.”

The first step in focusing on their health is for men to make sure that all preventive care screenings are completed and up to date.  Men should also make nutrition a part of their daily routine by eating a variety of fruits and vegetables.  Lastly, men should limit food and drinks high in calories, sugar, salt and saturated fat and alcohol.

The Jessie Trice Community Health System, Inc (JTCHS) is one of Miami-Dade County’s preeminent federally qualified community healthcare centers, governed by a remarkably dedicated Board of Directors (51% of which are users of the medical and dental services) and a diverse, incredibly talented, committed family of providers and staff.
