(BLACK PR WIRE) – WHO/WHY: To officially kick off the Blu-ray™ and DVD launch of “Alice in Wonderland,” Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment will recognize a local hero within the community. Ciara L. Bostick, founder of GOD’S GIFT, INC. will be given the “Muchness” award recognizing her exceptional attitude of empowering young females to become strong, independent leaders within their communities and encourages others to follow their positive leadership qualities.

WHAT: The Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment will award Ciara L. Bostick with a “Muchness” certificate along with a host of special gifts from local retailers to honor and recognize her acts of positive contribution in her local community.

ABOUT Ciara L. Bostick
Motivated by her own past experiences and conquering of low self esteem, Ciara L. Bostick has dedicated herself to crafting and spreading messages of healthy self esteem, self acceptance and ultimate goal setting for teen girls and young women. A native of South Florida, Ciara is the only child of Bishop Russell C. Bostick and Pastor Andrea Bostick, currently serves as Executive Director for God’s Gift, Inc. Ciara refused to let the media and society dictate and design her future. Instead, she took matters into her own hands. Inspired by her late grandmother, Ciara has devoted her time to serving the community nationwide.

Beyond working alongside her family in ministry as a prominent youth leader, Ciara has also been involved in numerous community service projects including annual soup kitchen and food drives during the holidays, the Annual Senior Citizens Luncheon in Boynton Beach, Florida, community tutoring for the Florida Comprehensive Achievement Test and participating and raising funds for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. One of her greatest community service projects was a weeklong visit to New Orleans. There she spent her spring break in New Orleans after the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina. She worked alongside the American Red Cross and Habitat for Humanity. For this, Ciara was honored with the President’s Award by Former President George W. Bush, for her humanitarian efforts.

In 2009, Ciara established a nonprofit organization, God’s Gift, Inc., whose mission is providing a healthy
environment for women and girls ages 7-27, promoting a healthy lifestyle by providing mentoring programs, weekend retreats, government assistance, housing assistance, career development and training, college preparation, and most importantly helping women and girls to recognize their self worth. God’s Gift, Inc. caters to low income and inner city women and girls throughout areas in Broward County, Florida.

Ciara currently holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in Public Communications from Florida Atlantic University as well as a minor in Sociology. She is currently pursuing a Masters of Science degree in Organizational Leadership and a Women’s Studies Certificate from Nova Southeastern University. Ciara is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Alpha Phi Omega Co-Ed Community Service Fraternity, Big Brothers Big Sisters, The Graduate Business Student Association and The National Black Graduate Student Association.

Recently, Ciara was nominated for the 2010 African American Achievers Award, which is presented by J.M. Lexus. One of her ultimate goals in life is to the spread the message of self worth to girls nationwide. She believes if you educate a girl, you educate a wife. When you educate a wife, you educate a mother – which eventually leads to educating a family.
