(BPRW) In the World, But Not of It

(BLACK PR WIRE) -- In the book of Romans chapter 12 verse 2, the Lord says, “And be not conformed to this world: but be you transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

We simply need to let go of what is in this world and focus more on what our Father in Heaven has stored up for us. Too many of us are seeking money, fame, jewelry and other materialistic things. Now I know many have heard their parents, pastor, friend or spouse say the same thing, but when will we see that life on planet Earth is nothing compared to what life is going to be like in Heaven?

Living in a world with more evil than good makes you wonder why society would exert so much energy into useless activities. The recurring issue to me is that many of us know what is expected of us but continue to live as if we don’t care. Usually bad things have to happen for us to seek God. Why do we continue to wait on a wake-up call?

Today’s society is faced with issues like early teenage pregnancy, indecent display of clothing, the degradation of young women, disproportionate incarceration of Blacks and senseless crimes. These are just a few of the problems plaguing the world today.

Now surely we know that this world will come to an end, but what are we as a society doing to prepare for our Lord and Savior’s return? A lot of us are being led astray by false profits, and others are worshiping money more than God.

This world we reside in is nearing its end and judgment day is closer than we expect. Instead of us continuing to do as we please, it is time to live as the Lord has instructed us to, by caring for others as we would ourselves. Love should be the basis of everything we do and by this love, everything else will inevitably lead to other, greater things.
