The event takes place from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Broward College, Institute of Public Safety, located at 3501 Davie Road in Davie, Florida. The event is free and open to the public.

The Minority Business Conference is presented in partnership with The Florida State University College of Business, The Institute for Economic Development at Broward College, Abundant Life Christian Church, City of Hallandale, City of Hollywood, Costco Wholesale, Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce, Mid Town Business Association, SBDC in Fort Lauderdale, and the Urban League of Broward County.

The Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship in the College of Business at Florida State University was established in 1995 through generous donations from automobile industry legend Jim Moran, his wife Jan, and JM Family Enterprises, Inc. It was also supplemented with a major grant from the State of Florida to create a fully-funded endowment and with additional funding from The Jim Moran Foundation, Inc.

The mission of the Jim Moran Institute is to cultivate, train and inspire entrepreneurial leaders in the community through world-class education programs and curriculum, intensive consulting assistance and mentorship to entrepreneurs and business owners, leading-edge academic research and applied education and public recognition. The organization’s faculty and staff provides students, faculty, entrepreneurs, and business owners with the tools and expertise necessary to develop strategies that establish and sustain advantages for businesses in today’s competitive marketplace and to creatively pursue new opportunities and innovations involving the startup of new business ventures.
