(BPRW) Dallas-Based Johnson Products Company Donates Close to $100,000 to Local and National Nonprofits at December 9 Community Luncheon

JPC's Renee Cottrell-Brown and Eric Brown Recognized by City and State Officials for Company's Generosity to the Dallas Community.

(BLACK PR WIRE) DALLAS, TX – December 16, 2010: Last week, Dallas City Councilwoman, Delia Jasso, and the office of Texas State Senator Royce West, recognized Renee Cottrell-Brown, Eric Brown and Johnson Products Company (JPC) for their generosity in supporting local and national nonprofits at the company’s December 9 community luncheon. Hosted by Ramona Logan, veteran journalist and president of Image Advantage, JPC’s luncheon celebrated the Dallas community and awarded over $50,000 to the Ina Mae Greene Foundation, Genesis Women’s Shelter and the United Negro College Fund of North Texas. The event also promoted JPC’s national initiative, No Excuse! Stop the Abuse! ™ which focuses on domestic violence awareness and uses one of JPC’s signature brands, Gentle Treatment®, as its platform.

The No Excuse! Stop the Abuse! ™ initiative launched for a second year at the Family Rescue Center in Chicago, Illinois, the birthplace of JPC. JPC awarded the women’s shelter with their second installment of their $25,000 grant at a luncheon in October during National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Last year, JPC built the Gentle Treatment® Beauty Center, a first of its kind, in the Family Rescue Center. In all, with the local and national donations, JPC has donated close to $100,000 to show the company’s commitment to the community and its responsibility to help those in need.

“Johnson Products Company’s commitment is already making a significant impact on the programs we have at the Ina Mae Greene Foundation. We now can offer bus passes, gas cards and other vital necessities to women who are turning their lives around for the better for themselves and their families,” explained Darlene Greene, founder and executive director of the Ina Mae Greene Foundation.

“Renee and Eric truly are shining lights in the Dallas community. Their commitment to raise awareness of domestic abuse is commendable. The Genesis Women’s Shelter is honored to be supported by the Johnson Products Family,” said Jan Langbein, executive director of the Genesis Women’s Shelter.
