(BLACK PR WIRE) – LOS ANGELES – Comedian Roy Wood Jr. will make his first guest appearance on TBS’s hit talk show CONAN on Monday, April 4th at 11p.m. ET/PT. In honor of the visit, Wood will post a special Twitter giveaway message on Monday and followers who retweet the message will be eligible to win one of five copies of his world-famous famous prank call CD, “I’ll Slap You To Sleep.” Follow Roy at www.twitter.com/roywoodjr.

“I’m a big fan of Conan, so it is quite an honor to be invited to grace his stage,” said Wood, who recently completed the official 52-city Last Comic Standing Tour.

Named by Entertainment Weekly as “one to watch,” Wood has previously been featured on CBS’ The Late Show w/ David Letterman, HBO’s Def Comedy Jam, and NBC’s Last Comic Standing. He’s also showcased at the prestigious Montreal Comedy Festival and has appeared on E! Network’s Chelsea Lately.

Conan O’Brien’s hit series on TBS is the youngest talk show in late-night television. Last quarter, the show ranked #1 with top ratings in two key demos: adults 18-49 and 18-34. CONAN averages 1,443,000 adults 18-49 and 930,000 adults 18-34, while the show’s median age is just 33.

Hailing from Birmingham, Ala., Wood first made a name for himself by making prank calls on unsuspecting old ladies and bill collectors. Today, his pranks are heard nationwide on more than 40 radio stations, including Jamie Foxx's Foxxhole Radio on Sirius/XM Satellite Radio. Wood’s comedy pushes the envelope on everything from relationships to politics. On Monday, he may tell a few jokes to show his diverse range which crosses all race and cultural lines – a gift that has allowed him to open for an array of comedians, including D.L. Hughley, Bill Engvall, Ron White, Monique, Tommy Davidson and Katt Williams.
