(BLACK PR WIRE) – [Baltimore, November 13, 2013]- Wells Fargo continues to honor African American history through its national tour featuring The Kinsey Collection -- Shared Treasures of Bernard and Shirley Kinsey: Where Art and History Intersect. The celebratory tour in honor of the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation reached its final stop at The Reginald F. Lewis Museum in Baltimore, and is on display until March 2, 2014. The tour officially launched during Black History month at the Museum of The African Diaspora (MoAD) in San Francisco and later traveled to the Harvey B. Gantt Center in Charlotte. The Kinsey Collection, a robust collection of art and artifacts dating back to the 1600’s, includes an early copy of the Emancipation Proclamation along with other important artifacts that share important and untold stories in the rich history of African Americans.

Ahead of the exhibition opening, Wells Fargo collaborated with the museum for a special preview and reception inviting media and patrons to view the exhibit and speak with the Kinsey family.

Over the weekend, more than one hundred middle and high school students attended the Kinseys’ “What You Didn’t Learn in High School History” session focusing on many of the untold stories of African American achievement in American history. Wells Fargo also hosted a special collector’s talk with Bernard and Shirley Kinsey where they shared information on their distinguished collection consisting of four generations of African American art and historical documents. Attendees walked away from both events with a deeper understanding and appreciation of The Kinsey Collection and the rich cultural heritage it represents.

Wells Fargo customers in Baltimore can take advantage of free admission to the museum with any valid Wells Fargo debit or credit card. Customer Appreciation days are held on the second Saturday of the month in December, January and February.
