(BPRW) South Florida Black PR Group Hosts Communications Trailblazer Bernadette Morris to share the "Art of Winning and Retaining Clients"

(BLACK PR WIRE) — Fort Lauderdale, FL - The National Black Public Relations Society-South Florida Chapter (NBPRS-SF) will host a meeting and networking event entitled "The Art of Winning and Retaining Clients," featuring Bernadette A. Morris, MPA, president and CEO of Sonshine Communications. The firm, founded in 1993, is Florida's largest African-American marketing and communications company. The event will be held February 1, 2014, 10 a.m. at Dickey Consulting Services, Inc.: 1033 N.W. 6 Street, Fort Lauderdale.

"It’s our honor to have Bernadette, a 20-year veteran in the industry, share her valuable insights with us,” said chapter President Matthew Beatty, director of communications at The Miami Foundation. “Her presentation will undoubtedly provide great advice for PR and marketing practitioners on how to influence clients and build key business relationships."

The National Black Public Relations Society-South Florida Chapter meets the first Saturday of every month. Organized in 2013 by communications professionals in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties, NBPRS-SF has quickly established itself as a valuable asset for its members; those gainfully employed, as well as those looking for quality jobs in the PR & marketing fields. One of its recent success stories is chapter member Valerie Goode, a PR executive searching for job opportunities when she joined the group. She credits the South Florida organization's job leads and network for helping her land a new position as marketing and communications director for Broward County Public Schools.

"BPRS provides real, tangible benefits to its membership,” said Goode. “We empower our members and others to not only improve their skills, but become highly sought-after PR professionals."

The chapter was recently selected to host the National Black Public Relations Society National Conference, November 6-8, 2014. Communications Committee Chair Tandaleya Wilder, president of She Got Game Media, said, "As one of the newest chapters in the U.S., we are ecstatic the national board selected us to host the conference. We are committed to putting on a successful event and serving as the go-to job and professional development resource for minority public relations practitioners and communicators throughout South Florida."
