(BPRW) A Special Message from the CBCF
(Black PR Wire) A Message from Tonya Veasey, CBCF President and CEO

Dear CBCF Family,

Today we begin the work to heal our nation and build an inclusive future for our country.

The CBCF congratulates President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris on their victory.

We celebrate an historic moment today as Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) member, Senator Kamala Harris becomes first Black woman and Historically Black College and University (HBCU) graduate to rise to the seat of Vice President.

From our National Race Equity Initiative for Social Justice, the great work of our Leadership Institute and our Policy for the People Virtual Braintrust Series, we will continue this work with our President-elect and Vice President-elect alongside our CBC members to ensure that the next generation of leaders will be empowered with the knowledge needed to break the cycle of systemic and institutional racism.

We are encouraged by the level of civic engagement in this election and we are more committed than ever. We will continue to facilitate the exchange of ideas and inform policy to address critical issues impacting the global Black community. We will drive strategic research and curate historical resources to educate the public and future generations of Black leadership.

Today is a great day and we are optimistic about the future.
