(BPRW) BGC, Inc. (Black Girls CODE) Announces Leadership Transition

(Black PR Wire) OAKLAND, CA – The Board of Directors of BGC, Inc. (“BGC”) today announced its decision to terminate the organization’s Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Kimberly Bryant, effective immediately. The Board’s decision was made following the conclusion of the previously disclosed investigation into allegations of workplace misconduct against her.

Ms. Bryant will no longer serve as an executive of the organization and has been removed from BGC’s Board of Directors. Sofia Mohammed, who has served as Interim Executive Director since December 2021, will continue to lead the organization while the Board identifies a permanent replacement.

We believe that this decision represents the best path forward for the organization and reflects the best interests of BGC, our community, and our important mission,” said Heather Hiles, Chair of BGC’s Board of Directors. “On behalf of the entire Board, we would like to thank Kimberly for her contributions as the founder and CEO of this organization – which has grown to inspire and educate thousands of young women of color. BGC will continue to serve our communities and deliver on our mission. Most importantly, nothing has changed our commitment to our students, staff, partners, and donors, and we look forward to continuing to work with all our stakeholders.”
