(BPRW) FPL and Partners Participated in the Thanksgiving Food Drive to Help Spread Joy this Holiday Season

Proud Sponsor of the 100 Black Men of South Florida’s Annual Event

(Black PR Wire) Pembroke Park, FL - On Nov. 19, Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) partnered with 100 Black Men of South Florida to support their annual Thanksgiving food drive. The event took place at the Feeding South Florida facility in Pembroke Pines.

The food drive fulfills the need to help and brings the joy of Thanksgiving to economically disadvantaged individuals in South Florida. The Thanksgiving food drive is a collaborative effort among community partners. Publix provides the food and UPS delivers the boxes to convenient locations in underserved communities for pick-up by those in need. Dozens of volunteers assembled the meal kits that include a turkey, canned goods and other items ideal for a Thanksgiving dinner.

“We partnered with 100 Black Men of South Florida to ensure that families in need in Miami-Dade County have a warm meal this Thanksgiving. It’s part of our commitment to working together with the communities we serve to make Florida an even better place to live, work and raise a family,” FPL Director of External Affairs for Miami-Dade Armando Fernandez said.

The 2022 goal was to pack and deliver more than  70,000 traditional Thanksgiving meals to those who need them most in South Florida. FPL is a proud sponsor of the 100 Black Men of South Florida’s Thanksgiving food drive, which  helps serve our community and helps build character, create hope, aspirations, plans and futures for tomorrow’s leaders.
