(Black PR Wire) MIAMI, FL — In recognition of National Public Health Week (April 7-13), Jessie Trice Community Health Foundation (JTCHF), in collaboration with the Jessie Trice Community Health System (JTCHS), hosted a special health and wellness event for local students from Andover Middle School and Dr. Henry W. Mack / West Little River K- 8 Center, at the JTCHS – Barbara J. Jordan Health & Wellness Center in Miami Gardens. The event, held on Tuesday, April 8, emphasized the importance of building healthy habits from a young age.
The educational initiative brought together healthcare professionals from JTCHS to engage with students and provide essential information on both oral health and overall wellness. Dr. Ashley E. Reid, a general dentist at JTCHS and Dr. Arianne Cordon-Duran, a family medicine physician, led the informative session. Students learned practical tips for maintaining a healthy smile, including the importance of a good daily dental hygiene routine and making healthy lifestyle choices. Representatives from Women Empowering Women in Development and Unmute Yourself, Inc. were also integral to the event, contributing valuable resources and insights.
“The Jessie Trice Community Health Foundation is committed to creating a healthier community,” said David Williams, Jr., vice-chair of the Jessie Trice Community Health Foundation’s Board of Directors. “We are grateful for this opportunity to empower the youth in our community by sharing health knowledge that will help them lead healthy lives and create a healthier future.”
